EMDR Verified Consultant
The first step to becoming an EMDR Verified Consultant is to become an EGNetwork EMDR Verified Psychotherapist. An EMDR Verified Consultant has completed advanced clinical training and additional clinical case consultation hours, where their consultation work has been observed.
Consultant or Supervisor?
Within the EGNetwork structure, these terms are used interchangeably.
In some countries outside North America, the title of Supervisor is utilized to acknowledge those providing EMDR consultation to trainees and those pursuing verification. In North America, the relationship of a supervisor in this context holds bearing on legal licensing in a state or region, therefore the title of Consultant is used.

EMDR Verified Consultant
An EMDR Verified Psychotherapist is a Professional Member who has completed additional advanced clinical training and consultation in the application of EMDR therapy, beyond Basic EMDR Training.
To apply to become an EMDR Verified Psychotherapist, you must have completed EMDR Basic Training by an approved trainer/organization and upload documentation that supports completion of the following:
- Current EGNetwork Membership
- Valid Licensure as a Mental health Professional
- Proof of having become an EGNetwork EMDR Verified Psychotherapist or Equivalent (See the equivalency page here.)
- Proof of 20 (twenty) hours of additional case consultation, half of which the candidate shall have been observed offering consultation, live or by video
- Proof of 300 (three hundred) additional clinical sessions
- Attend an EGNetwork approved EMDR Consultancy Seminar/Training
- Proof of 12 (twelve) Advanced Credits (CEU’s) recognized by EGNetwork completed in the last two years.
- No professional misconduct
EMDR Verified Consultant Equivalency

The equivalency option is for those who currently hold a valid verification/certification from another recognized organization.

- Proof of EGNetwork Professional Membership
- Proof of EGNetwork as a Verified EMDR Psychotherapist
- Proof of Licensure as a Mental Health Professional
- Certificate/Proof of recognition as a Consultant in EMDR from an EGNetwork recognized organization
