What is verification?

Verification is an additional credential you earn as an active EGNetwork member, once you’ve completed basic EMDR training. It confirms you’ve met EGNetwork’s standards for EMDR clinical practice, and it adds a Verified designation to your directory listing, with Consultant and Senior levels available as you continue to grow.

Verification builds on your membership rather than standing apart from it. Once you’re a member and ready to take that next step, here’s what applying for verification involves:

A note on terminology: some other organizations in the EMDR field use “certified” to describe a similar kind of credential. EGNetwork uses “verified” for its own distinct process and standards, so if you’re used to hearing “certified” elsewhere, verification is the equivalent credential here.

EMDR Verified Psychotherapist

An EMDR Verified Psychotherapist is a Professional Member who has completed additional advanced clinical training and consultation in the application of EMDR therapy, beyond Basic EMDR Training.

Continue growing: EMDR Senior and Master Psychotherapist distinctions are available to those who complete additional requirements.

EMDR Verified Consultant

For EGNetwork Verified EMDR Psychotherapists who are approved to provide EMDR consultation. An EMDR Verified Consultant has completed advanced clinical training as well as additional clinical case consultation hours, where their consultation work has been observed.

What if I’m already recognized by another EMDR Organization?

EMDR Verified Therapists with a valid certificate from another EGNetwork recognized organization can apply for the equivalency process. Learn more about verification by equivalency in your Membership Dashboard.
